For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat...
Hearts For Heaven was incorporated in 1992 in the United States as a non-profit health care outreach to Guatemala and all of Central America, with the sole purpose of sharing the love of Jesus with the hurting, the hungry, and the lost. We believe that God is still pouring out His amazing grace whereby the blind see, the lame walk, and the captive are set free.

    House and Shoes!

    This last week we had the pleasure of having a team from Higgins Memorial Church in Burnsville, NC come down for some work. They had 4 solid days of work at Oscar & Thelma Martin’s home near Guatemala City. Oscar and Thelma are Hearts for Heaven’s Guatemalan directors. The Martin’s have been working on their house [...]

    Construction Continues!

    “…to loose the bonds of wickedness…” Isaiah 58:12 In the well known Ch. 58 of Isaiah we get a glimpse of the tragic state of Israel. Here the prophet doesn’t mention idolatry, nor sexual impurity nor even murder. In this chapter Isaiah condemns Israel for their false religion, lack of mercy and compassion, and heavy [...]

    Adventures Are More Fun Without the Vomits

    Can you believe we’ve been down here 6 months already? In many ways I still feel like we’re settling in, figuring it all out. Yet at the same time, it’s flown by! With the 6 month mark comes the pressure of having to leave the country. When you arrive in Guatemala, they give you a [...]

    Sponsor a Child

    Thursday Hearts for Heaven (Roger, Beth, Oscar & David) made a trip down to San Antonio Buena Vista, Guatemala. San Antonio is a small village thousands of feet down the mountain from Guatemala City and therefore much warmer. For those of you who do not know Guatemala has an extraordinary landscape of beaches, mountains, flatlands [...]

    Feliz Navidad!

    It’s a great time of year as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Much in the same way as in the states there are lights on the streets, trees and music. Santa Clause can even be found at the local market for children to make their annual plea for gifts. The only thing missing [...]

    VBS = success

    We finished off VBS last week with a bang. Literally. Though we weren’t the ones creating the bang. Friday was the Dia de la Quema Del Diable: day of burning the devil. For the past week or two little stores had popped up, selling satanic effigies. When I first saw them, I thought they were [...]

There were about 45 kids today and we’re told that the number usually increases each day. The VBS starts at 2:00 with all the kids in the sanctuary singing songs and [...]
